Connect other tools with web addresses
Connect Coavon to almost any other tool. An automation can tell another tool when something happens in Coavon, and another tool can start an automation in Coavon. Zapier, Make and similar tools connect this way.

What it does
Send to a web address
Add the step Send to a web address to an automation in Flow or Scope. When it runs, Coavon sends the task, its project and any linked Scope record (or, in Scope, the record) to the address you enter, as JSON.
Start from a message
Make a Flow automation that starts with A message from another tool. It gets an address of its own. When another tool sends a message there, the automation's steps run, and can use what the message said.
Set it up
- Open a Flow project's settings, or Scope's automations, and make or open an automation.
- To send: add the step Send to a web address and paste the address the other tool gave you. It must be a public https address.
- To receive: choose A message from another tool as what starts it, save, and copy the automation's address into the other tool.
- In a step's text, use {in.name} or {in.order.total} to fill in fields from the message that started it.
For developers
- A message Coavon sends is a POST with a JSON body:
event,automation,organization_id,sent_at, an optionalnote, andtask, projectorrecordwith their names, details and links. - Each message is signed with your organization's secret:
X-Coavon-Signature: sha256=<HMAC-SHA256 of the exact body, hex>. Owners and admins see the secret in the automation's settings, so the other end can check a message really came from Coavon. - An automation's own address looks like
https://flow.coavon.com/api/hooks/<secret>. Send a POST with a JSON body of up to 32 KB. It answers 200 when the automation ran, 404 for an unknown address or a switched-off automation, 413 when too large, 415 when not JSON and 429 when over the limit. - Each address takes up to 60 messages a minute. Anyone who knows the address can start that one automation and nothing else, so treat it like a password. You can give an automation a new address at any time, and the old one stops working at once.
How it works, and what Coavon can see
- Coavon only sends to public https addresses, and checks again where the address really leads before each message, so an automation cannot reach a private network.
- Every message sent and its answer are listed in the automation's history.
- Each plan allows a number of messages a month in each direction, shown on the pricing page. Past that, the step is skipped and says so, and the rest of the automation carries on.

Questions
Starter and above, with a monthly allowance of messages each way that grows with the plan.
Not a listed one. In Zapier, use Webhooks by Zapier: send to Coavon's automation address to start an automation, or give Coavon the address Zapier gives you to receive. Make works the same way.
Not yet. Starting from a message works in Flow automations. Scope automations can send to a web address.
