Coavon for Slack
Keep your team up to date where they already talk. Each Flow project can post its updates to a Slack channel, any Slack message can become a Flow task, and a Flow link shared in Slack shows what the task is.

What it does
Project updates in a channel
Choose a channel for each Flow project, and which updates go there: new tasks, finished tasks, tasks that need someone's approval, and status updates about how the project is going.
A Slack message becomes a task
Open the menu on any message and choose Create a Flow task. Pick the name, project, who it is for and a due date. The message and a link back to it go in the task's description.
Previews of Flow links
Paste a link to a Flow task in Slack and it shows the task's name and details, so nobody has to open it to see what it is.
Set it up
- An owner or admin opens Workplace, then Settings, Integrations and Slack, and chooses Add to Slack. Slack asks you to allow Coavon in your Slack workspace.
- Each person links their own Slack account in the same place, with Sign in with Slack. This is what lets them make tasks from messages and share link previews.
- In Slack, add Coavon to each channel that should get updates: open the channel and type /invite @Coavon.
- In Flow, open a project's settings and choose Slack. Pick the channel and the updates you want, then save.
How it works, and what Coavon can see
- A task made from a Slack message is made by you, as if you had made it in Flow, and only in projects you can see.
- A link preview appears only when the person who shared the link has linked their Slack account and can see the task. Slack shows a preview to everyone in the channel, so share task links where their details are fine to show.
- Coavon cannot read the conversations in your channels. It sees a message only when you choose Create a Flow task on it, and a link only when it is a link to Flow.
- Slack's pass for Coavon is kept encrypted on Coavon's server. Coavon asks Slack for as little as it can: posting in channels it has been added to, listing those channels, the message menu item, and previews of Flow links. Linking a person uses Sign in with Slack, which only proves who they are.
- An owner or admin can remove Coavon from Slack in Workplace at any time, and anyone can unlink their own Slack account there.
